For over 30 years the AGC of Michigan has provided an avenue for member companies to invest in high-potential next-generation industry professionals and help strengthen and support the Michigan construction industry. 

Why should individuals join the program?

Whether you're laying the foundation of your career or ready to lead the next generation, this year-long program equips you with the tools, network, and confidence to shape Michigan’s construction industry.

The Future Construction Leaders of Michigan (FCLM) program enables participants to:

Build a network

​This 12-month tailored program builds and strengthens a network of industry professionals while building leadership skills.
​Identify new resources
​

Discover AGC Michigan and AGC of America resources to benefit the individual, the organization, and the industry.​
Help resolve current issues

​
Identify topics of current interest/concern and work together to find resources to address the issues.
Format
  • Leadership Workshops: Four full-day sessions tailored to participant-driven topics, and multiple virtual sessions, webinars, and web-based learning opportunities.
  • Industry Immersion: Site tours, fundraising events, and committee meetings
  • Networking & Visibility: Access to AGC Michigan Annual Meetings and NextGen Leaders Forum
  • Collaborative Learning: Group development of educational content
And, 
  • NextGen Leaders Forum (NLF) membership for 5 years.​

​Time commitment
This program requires a commitment of 48 - 60 hours spread out over the year-long program and is ​designed to fit alongside full-time roles.
​Cohort demographics
Rising leaders from general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and service firms are selected to participate providing a well-rounded networking and educational experience. The program is limited to 24 participants.

​Participants leave with expanded leadership capacity, deeper industry insight, and a network that lasts beyond the program.

  • Cost: $1600 (AGC Michigan members only)
  • Application deadline: December 19, 2025.
  • Limited to 24 participants: Rising leaders from general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and service firms are selected from the applicant pool to participate providing a well-rounded networking and educational experience.
  • Program Kick-off: February 27, 2026 @ Noon, Westin Book Cadillac, Detroit.​
