Safety: Disaster Relief Preparedness

Purpose:  Disaster Relief Preparedness is a ready action plan designed to meet the challenges of a emergency situation, to aid the public and to assist in restoring community life to a level as near normal as possible.

In the event of an emergency the Michigan Department of Emergency Services utilizes the Disaster Relief Preparedness reference book which lists ready and able contractors willing to come to the assistance of governmental agencies that will coordinate disaster relief services to the public.  The AGC of Michigan has been charged with the responsiblity of maintaining the reference book.

How to Participate :  To participate, contractors must register their equipment availability with the headquarters staff.  Contractors need only to complete a brief equipment availability form.

Questions:  Any questions about Disaster Relief Preparedness can be directed to Pete Anderson, Safety Director at 517.371.1550.
