Membership categories:
Constructor Members - The Constructor Members of the Association shall be persons, firms and corporations engaged in the construction business as a developer-builder, design-builder, general contractor, prime contractor, trade contractor or construction manager (“Constructors”) for two or more years prior to application for membership and who, at the time of making application for membership in the Association, are engaged in the construction business in Michigan or maintain offices within Michigan.
Provisional Constructor Members - The Provisional Constructor Members of the Association shall be Constructors who, at the time of making application for membership in the Association, are engaged in the construction business within Michigan or who maintain offices within Michigan who have not been in business for two years or who have extenuating circumstances that makes their membership as a Constructor Member inappropriate.
Constructor Associate Members - A Constructor Associate Member may be a specialty contractor or trade contractor who does not wish to receive all the rights and privileges of a Constructor Member, but who still wishes to be a member of the Association. An example would be an electrical or mechanical trade contractor who is a member of NECA or PMCA as their prime association.
Visiting Constructor Members - Members of other chapters of AGCA outside of Michigan while engaged in construction work within Michigan may apply for membership as a Visiting Constructor Member.
Reciprocal Construction Members - A Reciprocal Constructor Member is a member of any other AGCA chapter with whom the Association has executed a Reciprocity Agreement who performs construction work within Michigan.
Professional Service Provider Members - A Reciprocal Constructor Member is a member of any other AGCA chapter with whom the Association has executed a Reciprocity Agreement who performs construction work within Michigan.
Supplier Members - Supplier members shall include various classes of firms, corporations and/or firms who are engaged in services, or which provide materials or equipment, or which are otherwise integral, vital and necessary to the construction industry in Michigan.
Educational Members - Educational Members may be accredited educational institutions with construction management, engineering, or other construction-related degreed programs.
Construction Association Members - Construction Association Members are other construction associations and their members who are engaged in building or other construction work within Michigan, who are not otherwise eligible for membership in the Association.
Graduate Associate Members - Graduate Associate Members are individuals who are graduates of a Michigan college or university who, prior to their graduation, were members in good standing of an AGC Student Chapter or who are otherwise affiliated with our industry.
Honorary Members - Honorary Members may be retired individuals of member firms of the Association and other individuals chosen by the Board of Directors. Honorary Members shall not be entitled to vote at any membership meeting and shall not be eligible to serve as a Director or an Officer of the Association.
Sustaining Member - A Sustaining Member shall be a professional service provider that provides service to a fringe benefit fund sponsored by the Association, usually domiciled outside of the State of Michigan.
Labor Relations Division Member Option - Any Member of the Association may, at their option, and subject to all terms and conditions as they apply to them, elect to become members of the “Labor Relations Division” of the Association, as more specifically described in Article VIII of the Association Bylaws.
