AGC Contractors Members Recongized for Safety Excellence

AGC of Michigan recognized 33 companies on June 17 for winning National AGC Safety Awards (NASA).

Recognizing AGC contractor members for safety excellence since 1926, the National AGC-A Safety Awards (NASA) program has been an ongoing effort to offer AGC members an opportunity to evaluate their safety record. NASA compares a member's safety record with other AGC members according to the member size and construction type. Additionally, NASA provides a great opportunity for contractor members to compete for nationally recognized awards that have excellent safety records.

AGC-A Construction Inflation Alert

This March 2008 alert is the sixth in a series of continuing economic reports educating contractors and owners on construction
materials prices prepared by AGC-A's Chief Economist, Ken Simonson.
The report first reviews the course of construction activity, materials costs and labor in 2007 continuing with the spending outlook to an analysis of five inputs (diesel fuel, steel, concrete, copper and gypsum) and of labor and wage trends for 2008 and later. Each year, the Associated General Contractors of America hosts a three–day meeting on surety bonding and construction risk management. The meeting provides a unique opportunity for the in–house risk managers for the nation's leading construction contractors to engage their counterparts in the surety and insurance industries in candid discussion of recent trends, potential friction, and better ways for all three industries to support each other.

AGC hosted this year's meeting in Longboat Key, Florida, on February 6–8, 2008.
