Producer

Price

Indexes

The tables and charts below, prepared by AGC-A chief economist, Ken Simonson, show the increases in the producer price index (PPI) for numerous construction materials, segments, and contractor types. Overall construction costs have continued to rise much faster than the consumer price index or the producer price index for finished goods.

Michigan Energy Sector Report

Gerald Hesson, Business Development Representative for Michigan LECET, released his latest quarterly report on Michigan’s Energy Sector on October 26, 2009.  Hesson indicates that 2010 will see some movement in the energy sector and projects that expected to break ground.  Some of the work is related to Michigan’s new Renewable Portfolio Standard which requires that 10% of the state’s electrical power generation must come from renewable energy sources by 2015.  For a copy of the report, please click here.
