Part of the AGC of Michigan’s effort to deliver the services you need in 2010 involves a robust continuing education program.

Our CONSTRUCTED program will deliver training and education opportunities for your most valuable resource. . .your employees! Based on your input and the work of the Continuing Education Committee, the AGC of Michigan has developed this year-long series of educational opportunities which will be offered throughout the state. Construction Law Webinar Series

Michigan’s construction industry, like our country, faces uncertainty and change. Survival requires adaptation to new opportunities and obligations as well as prompt identification and better management of risks. Topics for the webinar have been selected from this practical law guide designed specifically for Michigan’s construction industry and will cover:

Contract Administration for Project Managers

This course helps to develop an understanding of how basic contracts are structured, how different types of contracts are used, and how project documentation relates to effective contracting. Learn how different project delivery methods use different contracting strategies, and gain insight into contract law and language in relation to project risk.


LEED Green Associate Exam Prep

The LEED Green Associate (GA) is a new credential offered under the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED 2009 v3. To pass the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) exam that awards professional accreditation requires a level of fundamental knowledge relating to LEED core concepts and strategies. The Green Associate is now designated a Tier 1 accreditation and must be completed prior to becoming a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP+). At present, the multiple-choice exam is expected to take up two hours.

  • Effective production planning Production process improvement
  • Project-wide applications
  • Risk, emergencies, and crisis situations

Certified Lead Renovators Training

March 30, 2010 - Livonia

Registration

This day long seminar will provide a certificate to individuals who will be designated as “EPA Certified Lead Renovators.”  The Certified Lead Renovator:

• must be present at each work site for Target Housing (a home or residence built on or before December 31, 1977)

- or -

• Child Occupied Facilities (any pre-1978 building or portion of a building regularly visited by children under 6 years such as; schools, child care centers, head start program facility/rooms, latchkey program facility/room, or hospitals rooms.)

- and -
• must be on-site at each impacted building on a daily basis.
• must be at the job-site during paint testing, sign posting, work area set-up and clean-up phases of the work.
• provide training to the non-Certified work staff that will be working on buildings affected by this regulation.
