What Members Say"Becoming an active member of the Construction Leadership Council (CLC) has been extremely rewarding for me both personally and professionally. The charitable, philanthropic, and educational programs we help shape, promote, and take part in have been outstanding. And the exchange of current information to our group from the AGC of Michigan staff and its Board of Directors has really expanded the way I view the construction industry as a whole. Last fall another member and I had the privilege of representing our Michigan chapter at the annual AGC of America CLC Working Weekend in Boston, Massachusetts. At the end of this two day event we each had a number of new ideas to consider implementing in our own chapter and nearly two dozen new contacts of young professionals from various companies and locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. To me this really captured what I consider to be the most beneficial aspect of participating in the CLC and that’s networking. Attending CLC and AGC meetings and events has given me the opportunity to establish meaningful relationships and friendships with individuals ranging in position from entry-level engineers on up to company owners and executives. Looking ahead it is these relationships and the resulting opportunity to collaborate with the future and current leaders of the industry that drives my excitement for remaining involved for many more years to come as I grow in my career." - James Kramek, Project Manager, Clark Construction (2009) How You Can BelongBecoming a member of the CLC is as easy. First of all, make the decision to become a member of one of the most dynamic construction organizations for young professionals in the industry. The next step is getting the approval of your company to attend an average of one meeting or event per month. Most meetings and events either take place late in the day or early evening.
